Christmas 2021 Plans
Day 10 of my 12 Days of Christmas is here. This blogging episode has gone quickly. Christmas is just a few days away and the year is just about finished. Our Christmas plans are full of variety as we will spend Christmas Eve with my husband’s family. My mother-in-law is 100% Italian, so can you say food? There are no little children in the family, but our Great-Nephew turns 13 on Christmas Day. On Christmas Day, we will have lunch at our sister-in-law’s house and less food, which is good.
We would typically spend Christmas with my Aunt and cousins, but they have chosen not to gather this year. None of my out-of-town cousins are coming home, and my aunt is 94, so I understand her wanting to stay home. One of my Christmas presents arrived yesterday as my childhood best friend Angie flew in for the holidays. We are strictly soul mates, and we have been best friends since January 15, 1965. Fifty-seven years which is a long time. No one knows me better than her, not even my husband, who is the love of my life. Getting to spend time with her is priceless, and that is all we need.
I plan to take some time off during the next two weeks, but I can’t disconnect. I need to start working on my taxes next week, especially for the business. There are other things I need to accomplish in this house. I have been cleaning up my house, and now winter has set in. Being a BA, I am used to things always being half-finished, but I am not quite as organized and neat as I used to be. I did see part of our dining room table yesterday. I believe we do have granite on our kitchen snack bar.
I feel that a neat and clean house doesn’t talk to you. My mess is not leaving a food mess around, just papers and books. People talk to you, and it is important to make memories. This Christmas the presents aren’t necessary, but the people are. Sending someone a thoughtful, meaningful gift is one thing but do that all year, not just Christmas. Don’t rush around this holiday season; enjoy it instead. Make your activities meaningful as life can change in a second. Most of all, please stay safe and healthy. Until next time, please keep your glass at least half-full.
