Just One Word
Just one word sometimes makes all the difference in the world. I attended a wedding on Saturday of a close friend that got married. At the wedding, I got to see a lot of people I used to work with but I had not talked with for many years.
I saw one friend of the bride and we all used to work together many years ago. Seeing this friend of mine meant as much as seeing the bride so happy. She gave me a few compliments that probably have made my month. I realized why I missed working with her so much. Last week just wasn’t the best week as it started with my cousin Mark dying from leukemia. He wasn’t just any cousin but he was the priest who married us.
There is a lesson in this that applies to business analysis. When you are working with someone, never hesitate to give a compliment or kind words. You never know what that person is going through. I don’t dwell on the bad things and always view life with a glass-half-full mindset. Work is just like life in that time is something you can’t get back. Try to always make someone’s day with just one kind word or more. It will make you feel awesome and life is so much better when you are happier. Until next time, please keep your glass at least half full.
